Ade-Bada Foundation International has announced plans to host its 2nd Biennial Conference and Lecture on disability inclusion on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the Kogi State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre, Lokoja.
The conference, themed “United for Ability: Changing the Disability Narrative,” aims to promote inclusivity by creating opportunities for persons living with disabilities to be supported, empowered, and fully integrated into society.
In a statement ahead of the event, the organisers said the conference would provide a vital platform to examine the challenges confronting persons with disabilities, while also advocating policies and practical actions that will enhance their active participation in all facets of national development.
The keynote lecture will be delivered by Prof. Johnson Orugun, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba.
The event will be chaired by the National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Alhassan Yahaya.
The Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, is expected as the Special Guest of Honour.
Other distinguished guests include the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Umar Aliyu Yusuf; Hon. (Architect) Salman Idris, Member of the House of Representatives; Dr. Femi Fashagba, Provost, College of Education, Ankpa; and the Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Planning, Hon. Asiwaju Ashiru Idris, who will serve as Anchor Supporter.
The Royal Father of the Day is His Royal Majesty, Rtd. Col. Olusegun Oloruntoba, the Olugbede of Gbede Land, while the Father of the Day is Hon. Chief Abiodun Samuel Ojo, Chairman of Biodun and Associates.
The Convener of the conference, Pastor Bada Adeniyi Ezekiel, emphasized that the event underscores the urgent need for collective action in reshaping societal perceptions about disability.
He noted that persons with disabilities possess immense potential that must be harnessed for national growth and development.
He called on stakeholders, organisations, and members of the public to attend and actively contribute to building a more inclusive society where no one is left behind.
