(Benin)
The APC candidate for the Edo state governorship elections, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu,
has promised that when elected by the grace of God as Governor in the September elections, he would be governor for all the entire state.
Ize-Iyamu, who is from Edo South, Senatorial district of the state made the promise, when the leaders of the APC of Edo Central Senatorial district paid him a visit to congratulate him on his victory in Benin.
He said, “Let me also assure you that this will not be a government that will focus it’s attention only on Edo South. I do not want to be seen as Edo South governor but Edo state Governor.
” I will be a Governor that will deliberately try to develop every part of the state. This is because that is the only way we can actually show that we are one”.
According to Ize-Iyamu” Whether in terms of physical structures, in terms of appointments, in terms of projects, whether we are doing projects and we are making decisions, we must constantly look at the map of Edo state and make sure that we are consciously ensuring that there is an even spread in the 3 senatorial districts”.
The APC Governorship candidate commended the leaders and members of the party in Edo Central senatorial district for their overwhelming support of his aspiration at the just concluded primaries which he won.
He said, “Let me thank you for being the first Senatorial district to congratulate me on my nomination as the candidate of the APC. I cannot thank you enough. Many of you were instrumental to my return to the party, you encouraged me and you have always been with me”.
He particularly commended the leader of the delegation, Chief Francis Inegbeneki, for accompanying him to all the local governments across the state before the primaries, with the message from the district that the 51wards of the 5 local government areas were in his support.
He said Inegbeneki’s message was heavy and well-received in the two other senatorial districts which also supported his nomination, adding that, “from the results, I did very well in the 51 wards”.
Earlier Inegbeneki said the purpose of their visit was to congratulate Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu on his resounding victory at the party primaries and to assure him of maximum support of the 51 wards that made up the 5 local government areas of Edo Central at the Governorship elections in September.
