Late Elder Moses Onivehu.
Members of the Kogi Central Think Tank Forum (KCTTF) on Wednesday gathered in solemn reflection and deep reverence to honour the memory of one of their most respected elders, late Mr. Moses Onivehu, who passed on at the age of 82.
The valedictory session, marked by heartfelt tributes and emotional recollections, celebrated a man widely acknowledged for his wisdom, discipline, and unwavering commitment to humanity.
The session, presided over by the Chairman of the Forum, Dr. Haroun Opotu Yussuff, drew members who shared personal experiences and testimonies of the late elder’s impactful life.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Yussuff described Onivehu as “a good man whose legacy of integrity and service will continue to inspire generations within and beyond the Forum.”
The Secretary of the Forum, Mohammed Baba Sadiq, in an emotional tribute, portrayed the deceased as a “fighter who fought the war of life successfully.”
He described him as a man of great wisdom, a lover of people, and one whose absence would be deeply felt for a long time.
Other speakers echoed similar sentiments, painting a portrait of late Elder Onivehu whose life embodied honesty, courage, and compassion.
Alhaji Momohjimoh Ahmadu remembered the late Onivehu as a disciplined and honest individual, while Alhaji Abubakar Ismaila highlighted his distinguished career in the civil service, noting the deceased’s dedication, straightforward nature, and jovial disposition.
Chief Emmanuel Boro, the Vice Chairman of the Forum,described the deceased as generous and frank, though often misunderstood, while Austyn Ochu emphasized his love for people’s progress and his candid approach to issues.
In their separate tributes, Alhaji A.K. Bello and Double Prince Ibrahim Olokoba urged members to emulate the virtues of the deceased, describing him as a good man whose life should serve as a moral compass for the living.
Mrs. Petra Balagbogbo and other speakers recalled his prayerful nature and strong human relations, underscoring the values that defined his lifetime.
The valedictory session also featured the announcement of a replacement in the Forum’s Election Committee, with Alhaji Ahmed Oneta Salami as Chairman of the electoral committee while Daudu A.K. Bello stepped into the committee,signaling continuity in the Forum’s activities even in the face of loss.
As the session drew to a close, members reflected on the inevitability of death and the importance of living impactful lives.
The gathering was not only a farewell but also a call to uphold the ideals that Elder Moses Onivehu stood for,truth, service, humility, and love for humanity.
Late Mr. Moses Onivehu leaves behind a legacy etched in integrity and a life that will remain a reference point for excellence and selfless service.
