The Kogi Central Think Tank Forum (KCTTF) has been thrown into deep mourning following the sudden and heartbreaking death of one of its respected elders, Adai Moses Ovurevu Onivehu, whose passing has left a painful void in the hearts of colleagues, associates, and the wider community.
The announcement was made by the Chairman of the Forum, Dr. Haroun Opotu Yussuff, in a sorrow-laden statement issued in Lokoja and shared on the group’s social media platform on Friday .
His words reflected the shock and grief that have gripped members since the news broke.
“With deep sorrow and a heavy heart, I announce the tragic and sudden death of Elder Moses Ovurevu Onivehu,” the chairman said, struggling to convey the weight of the loss.
He revealed that the elder statesman passed on to glory at the Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Lokoja, without any oita of illness, a development that has made the loss even more difficult to comprehend.
Described as a calm, wise and committed member of the Forum, the late Onivehu in his early 80s,was known for his contributions to dialogue, community development, and the unity of Kogi Central.
His death, sudden and unexpected, has left many in disbelief, as tributes continue to pour in from those who encountered his humility and sense of service.
Despite the overwhelming grief, Dr. Yussuff expressed gratitude to God for the impactful life the deceased lived, praying that his soul finds eternal rest in the bosom of the Almighty.
The statement carried a tone of faith amid pain, as members try to come to terms with the shocking reality.
In a bid to honour his memory and deliberate on the way forward, the chairman urged members of the Forum in Lokoja to converge at their centre by 10:00 a.m on Saturday.
The meeting is expected to provide a moment of collective mourning and reflection on the life and legacy of a man many described as a pillar within the Forum.
As the Forum mourns, the silence left behind by Elder Onivehu’s departure echoes deeply,reminding all of the fragile nature of life and the enduring impact of a life lived in service to others.
