The clock had barely touched 11 p.m. when Kehinde Adegbodu shared his last moments with his twin brother, Taiwo Adegbodu.

Sources said the two had spent the evening in laughter, music, and plans for the days ahead, just like countless nights before.

However, little did Kehinde know that this ordinary night would turn into a lifetime memory of what would become their final hour together.

“By this time last week Saturday, you were still alive and very active. We were together till 11 p.m. before you left suddenly,” he wrote, each word carrying the weight of an infallible loss.

Taiwo, who passed away on March 1 at 46, was not just Kehinde’s twin but his musical soulmate, confidant, and lifelong companion. Together, they formed the Adegbodu Twins, a gospel duo that enchanted fans across Nigeria since their 1999 debut album Faratimi (Lean on Me).

Kehinde described the silence left by his brother’s absence as unbearable, a void that even the melodies they once shared could not fill.

“I won’t hear your powerful vocal voice again,” he lamented, promising to honour Taiwo’s memory through every note he sings, every stage he graces, and every life their music touched.

Family and fans are preparing to celebrate Taiwo’s life with an artistes night on March 30 at Bollads Event Centre, Akala Express, Ibadan.

His burial service will follow the next day, March 31, at his residence. For Kehinde, the stage may feel emptier, but in spirit, the bond of the Adegbodu Twins endures.
