In a remarkable display of compassion and commitment to his constituents, Hon. Ozigi Muhammed Tijani, Member representing Okene/Ogori-Magongo Federal Constituency in Kogi state has distributed thousands of cartons of food items to Muslim faithful across the constituency in celebration of the holy month of Ramadan.
The distribution, which drew a mammoth crowd, attracted beneficiaries from all walks of life, including teachers, market women, party supporters, community elders, and residents from the 21 wards of the constituency, according a statement from “Kogi Decides” and a copy made available to The Reporters on Monday.
The initiative was widely hailed as a timely intervention to ease the economic burden on fasting families while encouraging spiritual devotion during this sacred period.
The event also saw the presence of several traditional rulers, including the Ohinoyi of Egbiraland, Ohi of Okene, and Ohi of Okengwe, as well as representatives of non-indigenous communities such as Hausa, Fulani, Igbo, Yoruba, and Edo residents, highlighting the inclusive nature of the programme.
The Ohinoyi of Ebiraland was represented by his Protocol Officer, who praised Hon. Tijani for his developmental efforts since assuming office and conveyed royal blessings for his continued service to the people.
Speaking on behalf of the federal lawmaker, Hon. Aduke Abdullahi thanked constituents for their unwavering support and described the food distribution as a modest effort to motivate Muslim faithful to continue their fasting with ease and dignity despite prevailing economic challenges.
The federal lawmsker urged the community to use this sacred month to pray for unity, peace, and progress in the constituency and the nation at large, while also remembering leaders at all levels in their prayers.
The Ramadan outreach further underscores Hon. Tijani’s dedication to humanitarian service, grassroots engagement, and inclusive representation, reinforcing his reputation as a leader committed to the well-being of all segments of his constituency.
