Niger Governor Receives Remaining St. Mary’s Pupils,Teachers,victims rescued unhurt

The Governor of Nigeria State, Mohammad Umaru Bago on Monday officially received the remaining 130 pupils and staff of St. Mary’s Catholic Primary and Secondary School, including seven teachers, at the Government House in Minna.

Handing over the children and staff after hours of operation, the National Coordinator of the Counter Terrorism Centre, Maj-Gen Adamu Laka (Rtd), said the rescue mission was conducted in collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser to the President, the DSS, the Police, and other security agencies.

Retired Maj-Gen Laka assured that measures have been taken to safeguard the lives of Nigerians nationwide and prevent similar incidents in the future.

He praised Nigerians for their support and prayers, which he said contributed to the successful rescue, emphasizing that all the children were rescued unhurt and none remain in captivity.

Governor Bago expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his unwavering support in securing the release of the children and commended Nigerians for their solidarity during the crisis.

Visibly relieved, Governor Bago invited the children and their parents to Minna to celebrate Christmas together and thanked God for their safe return and encouraged continued prayers for an end to the nation’s security challenges, which have drawn negative attention to Nigeria.
