The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Sunday Karimi, on Saturday paid a condolence visit to Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo at his private residence in Lokoja following the death of his father, Alhaji Ahmed Momoh Sani Ododo.

Senator Karimi was accompanied by Senator Isah Jibrin, Senator Tony Nwoye, and Alhaji Suleiman Baba Ali during the visit.

While the delegation was with the Governor, the Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, also arrived at Gov. Ododo’s residence to offer his sympathies and Senators Karimi and Jibrin joined their host in welcoming Governor Okpebholo to Kogi State.

In his condolence message, Senator Karimi described the passing of the 83-year-old patriarch as the painful loss of a patriot whose wisdom, prayers, and support were invaluable to the family and the state.

“I want to use this medium to express the sincere condolences of the people of Kogi West to you, Your Excellency, the Ododo family, the government, and the people of Kogi State over the passing of your dear father,” he said.

Karimi noted that though the death of Alhaji Ododo was painful, it was consoling that he lived a purposeful life of service to God and humanity, leaving behind enduring legacies and inspiring testimonies.

“On behalf of the people of Kogi West, we share in your grief and admonish the family to take solace in the will of Almighty God who gives and takes when He wills. May Allah forgive his shortcomings, repose his soul, and grant him eternal rest, Amen,” he added.
