The Innovation and Advance Science Research Group (IASRG) at Summit University, Offa, continues to break new ground in exploring sustainable technologies. On December 17, 2024, team members embarked on a study visit to Tiwakiki Consulting Limited, Ibadan, an organization celebrated for its innovative use of biomass.

During the visit, the team witnessed the remarkable process of converting biomass—specifically cow dung and bowel contents—into biogas, an eco-friendly energy source primarily used for cooking. This process not only promotes environmental sustainability by reducing waste but also supports agricultural productivity through the production of organic fertilizer. Additionally, the team learned about the creation of char, a cleaner alternative to conventional cooking fuels.

The IASRG team had engaging discussions with Tiwakiki’s experts, exploring the technical details of their sustainable systems and identifying ways these practices could be adapted to tackle local challenges. The visit highlighted the enormous potential of green technologies in promoting energy independence and environmental preservation.

Looking ahead, the IASRG team plans to broaden their research scope by exploring other areas of economics and historical relevance at Ibadan, a city with a rich blend of industrial significance and historical heritage. This aligns with IASRG’s mission to blend innovative research with cultural and economic insights.

This visit to Tiwakiki Consulting Limited represents the start of a larger initiative aimed at linking advanced research with practical applications. By expanding their focus to the diverse landscapes of Ibadan, the IASRG team demonstrates its commitment to addressing present-day challenges while drawing inspiration from the past.

Stay tuned for updates as IASRG continues its journey of impactful discovery and sustainable innovation.
