NUC Accredits 6 Engineering Programmes at CUSTECH, Boosting Academic Profile

The Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, Kogi State, has achieved a major milestone in its academic development as the National Universities Commission (NUC) granted full accreditation to six of its engineering programmes.

The Vice-Chancellor, of the university Prof Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu,made the disclosure on Tuesday during a briefing at his office in Osara according to the statement from the Information, Public Relations and Protocol unit of the institution.

The Vice Chancellor, the unit added presented the official accreditation letter dated April 7, 2026, signed by Abraham Chundusu on behalf of the NUC Executive Secretary.

The accredited programmes include Mining Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering,key disciplines considered critical to Nigeria’s industrial and technological advancement.

Prof. Salawu described the development as a landmark achievement and a clear validation of the university’s adherence to national academic standards.

He noted that the success reflects the collective commitment of the institution’s management, staff, and students to delivering quality education.

“This accreditation underscores our resolve to build a strong academic foundation that meets global standards and contributes meaningfully to national development,” he said, while congratulating the Faculty of Engineering for its dedication and resilience.

The Vice-Chancellor also expressed appreciation to the Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his sustained support toward the growth and development of the university.

The accreditation is expected to enhance the institution’s credibility, attract more students, and strengthen its capacity to produce skilled graduates capable of addressing real-world engineering challenges.
