Mal.Abdulrazak Yusuf and his wife, Hajarat.
,,,, Stresses sustainability of marriage institution.

By Dawud Ahmed in Lokoja.

A Lokoja-based Islamic scholar,
Sheikh Mansur Nayashi.has urged Muslims to eschew flamboyant weeding in preference for sustaining marriage as an institution,to ensure long lasting and blissful married life for couples.

According to him,Islam abhors a situation where many Muslims go for loan or borrowing with a view to lavishing such money on materialistic wedding, adding that at the end, the couple be sweating to pay for the loan or debt.

The Islamic leader identified flamboyant wedding as one of the causes of broken marriage, adding that once the couple could not cope with the life after marriage due to heavy debt arising from their wedding, they usually part ways.

He explained that once the basic ceremony, such as paying the dowry as prescribed by Islamic injunction is done, the couple is legally married and should go ahead to build on the process of sustaining the ever lasting institution of their marriage for peace and tranquility.

He, however, reminded the couple that marriage entails love, patient, respect, sacrifice, compromise among other virtues by the two parties, adding that any marriage that lacked these traits would eventually crash.
Nayashi advised the new couple to adhere strictly to the injunction of Islam on the institution of marriage, for them to lay a solid foundation for their marriage and by extension, happy and lasting family.
He also called on them to intensify prayer,to be able to overcome whatever challenge that might come their way in their long life union.

According to him, while the husband is duty bound to feed and for his wife and the children, the wife must reciprocate by respecting her husband in order to ensure balance in the equation of marital bliss.

Meanwhile, the Managing Director,FATMASS ASSOCIATES,the publishers of The Reporters, Alhaji Dawud Ahmed, has felicitatated with the new couple over the joyous moment in their marital journey.
In a statement he made available to the online publication on Sunday in Lokoja, Ahmed congratulated the couple and wished them peaceful, rewarding and stress free marriage.
He, however, advised them to keep to the principles that wheel the process towards ensuring peaceful marriage.
These, he added, include, mutual love and respect, helping hand to keep their floating, especially in this era of economic harship and its threat to family stability and above all, increased closeness to Almighty Allah in prayers among others.
Our correspondent reports that many relations of the couple and well-wishers attended the ceremony conducted at Kutepa mosque,Lokoja.
