,,,,,as alleged disappearance of manhood heightens.
By Dada Ahmed.
Many male residents of Lokoja, Kogi State, North Central Nigeria, have stopped shaking hands with or hugging each other for fear of loosing their manhood.
Our correspondent who was at Lokongom area of the state capital on Thursday reports that, one of the suspected manhood removers was seen receiving merciless beating from members of the public, forcing him to return the manhood of a middle aged man.
The victim was also seen crying profusely begging the suspect to return his manhood but all with no avail as at the time our correspondent left the scene.
The Reporters gathered that similar event happened at Shetima housing estate, a suburb of Lokoja on Wednesday, where another suspect was arrested by the residents and given beating of his life.
They told our correspondent that the suspects have their kingpin in one of the states in the federation who released them to some states of the federation to help him remove manhood for money making and other rituals.
Sources added that all the suspects need doing is to have handshake or rub their body with their victim in a car or kekenapep.
The Reporters also gathered that immediately the suspects remove the manhood, diabolically, the organ automatically goes to the kingpin and effort to retrieve it by the owner remains abortive.
Earlier, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, for the Police Command in the state, SP.William Ovie Aya, confirmed the event in a telephone interview with The Reporters on Tuesday.
Reacting to the issue in a statement signed by PPRO, the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP. Bethrand C. Onuoha, called on residents on residents to desist from peddling fake and false information on the disappearance of male organs trending in the area.
He stated that some of the allegations had been investigated by the Police, adding that medical examination were equally carried which turned out to be false.
CP. Onuha said:” The false information has the sole aim of inciting public disturbance, creating fear and disrupting the peaceful environment the state is currently enjoying.
“The Police is planning sterner measures to curtain false report in the State. As anyone caught giving false information will be prosecuted according to the law.”
The police boss, therefore, warned members of the public to desist from taking law into their hands by shuning jungle justice, assuring that the Command had deployed its security assets to detect individuals behind peddling rumour that haf so far led to the attacks on innocent citizens.
He, however, urged the good people of the state to remain security conscious and report anything that looks suspicious in their areas to the Police.
