There is no gainsaying the fact that our beloved community is entrapped in miasma of infrastructural underdevelopment and manpower mismanagement or criminal neglect in the hands of both the federal and state authorities.
Those whose duty and responsibilities lies upon to develop the community have failed woefully to rise to the occasion.
They have failed to live up to their responsibilities.
Today, the community is mired in infrastructure decay and absence of dividends of democracy.
What we have on ground are the relics of past glories.
The internal roads constructed decades ago, are in total decay and begging for intervention, that is clearly within the purview and power of relevant authorities.
Sometimes, I wonder what is the crimes of the community and her people.
Since the commencement of this democracy, the people of the community have always supported the government of the day.
What then is exactly the problem of the community?We have produced Deputy Governor, House of Representatives members and scores of House of Assembly members, including other notable political office holders. Why was it difficult for these political actors to attract dividends of democracy to the community,for the general good of the people,both at home and in diaspora?
Now that we are preparing for the next dispensation,I pray that APC candidate Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo wins the election convincingly, so that we can engage him to please extend dividends of democracy to the much marginalised Ihima community.
Let’s support him wholeheartedly to make this dream a reality.
We are better off with him as Governor than any other candidate.
I understand the palpable frustrations and anger in Ihima, about the way we are being unjustly treated by relevant authorities.
I want to believe that we have all learned our lessons, both the governed and the government in power. This marginalisation should stop.
Enough should be enough.
