Leadership reporter’s death,very painful—kogi Governor

Late Sam Egwu.

The Governor of kogi state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has described the death of the Leadership Reporter in Kogi State, Mr Sam Egwu as very painful and a great loss.

The Governor,in a Press Statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Mohammed, made the remarks in his condolence message to the family of the late journalist, the entire management and staff of the Leadership Newspaper as well as the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) over the sudden death.

Bello also described the late journalist as a man of truth and fairness who practised journalism with professional ethics.

He said that Journalism had lost one of its dedicated and upright members, noting that the late Egwu would be remembered for his objectivity, diligence and hard work.

The Governor prayed to Almighty God to grant the soul of Sam Egwu eternal rest and members of his family, the fortitude to bear the loss.

The Reporters recalls that Egwu, regarded among his colleagues as an easy going,lively and friendly among other traits,died on Sunday in Lokoja afternoon in what sources described as a sudden death.

Our Correspondent gathered that the deceased had earlier gone to the office of INEC on marine road, Lokoja on Sunday to monitor the distribution of permanent voter card,PVC,and returned to his house.

Shortly after that, he was said to have died while sitting on a chair in his room.
