The Police Command in Kogi State says it has recovered two human skulls and arrested four suspected Kidnappers/armed robbers, terrorizing Bassa Local Government Area of the state and its environs.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Police Command in the state,DSP William Aya, disclosed this in a statement he signed and made a copy available to The Reporters in Lokoja on Thursday.
According to him, the arrest was made possible following a credible intelligence that the suspected kidnappers/armed robbers, who have been terrorizing Bassa Local Governnent and its environs were sighted in a compound at new Jarusalem in Oguma area of the local government.
He said:” Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force attached to Bassa Division, led by the DPO, promptly swung into action, stormed the compound and arrested the following suspects;
1. Guda Dangana
2. Dogo Chure
3. Dekina Zhiya
4. Samson Nyizo
all from Bassa Local Government.
“Items recovered from them include, *one locally made Pistol, one 7.62mm ammunition, one cartridge, one G3 ammunition and two human skulls.
“The suspects made useful confession on series of criminal activities within Bassa axis. Suspects will arraigned in court on completion of investigation.”
He qouted the Commissioner of Police,Idrisu Dauda Dabban,as having commended the prompt response of the officers and assured members of the public that, the Police Command in the state,collaboration with other security agencies in the State, would continued the onslaught against criminal elements in the state.
The the police boss in the state said became necessary to ensure that, “Kogi State remains the safest the State in Nigeria.”
