Tears in Ofu as Vice Chairman Ojali Joy Omaga Passes Away

A pall of grief has descended on Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State following the sudden death of the Vice Chairman of Ofu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Ojali Joy Omaga.

Hon. Omaga reportedly passed away in the early hours of Saturday, sending shockwaves across the council and beyond, where she was widely regarded as a committed public servant and a pillar of grassroots development.

The circumstances leading to her death remained sketchy but was officially confirmed in a condolence statement issued by the Executive Chairman of Ofu LGA, Hon. Musa Muhammed Lawal, through his Chief Press Secretary, Adama Abubakar.

In the statement, the council chairman described the late vice chairman’s demise as a painful and irreplaceable loss, not only to the leadership of the council but also to critical stakeholders, political associates, and the entire people of Ofu.

He noted that Hon. Omaga served with dedication, humility, and a deep sense of responsibility, contributing meaningfully to the growth and development of the local government.

“The entire Ofu Local Government, critical stakeholders, and party faithful will forever miss her invaluable contributions and unwavering commitment to service,” the statement read.

Her passing has left colleagues, friends, and residents in deep sorrow, as many struggle to come to terms with the loss of a leader described as compassionate, accessible, and passionate about community welfare.

Hon. Lawal prayed for the repose of her soul, asking Almighty God to grant her eternal rest in His bosom and give her family, associates, and the people of Ofu the strength to bear the painful loss.

The council added that details of her burial arrangements would be made public in due course.

As the news of her death continues to spread, tributes have begun to pour in, reflecting the profound impact Hon. Omaga made during her lifetime,a legacy now remembered with tears and heavy hearts.
