Edo APC primary: Ize-Iyamu wins with 27,838 votes

Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has won the Edo APC primary election with 27,838 votes to contest the September governorship election in Edo state, having defeated two other contestants: Osaro Obaze,who polled 3,776 votes and Dr Pius Odubu,2724 votes.

The Chairman of the committee for primary election and the Governor of Imo state,Chief Hope Uzodima announced the the results of the exercise in Benin on Monday.

He described the exercise as “one of the most clinically exercise in the history of elections in Nigeria.”

The chairman commended the voters for their zeal during the election and urged them to repeate such support during the September governorship election in the state in order to return Edo state to APC.

Addressing journalists, shortly after the announcement of the results, Ize-Iyamu expressed delight for his victory and commended the voters for their overwhelming support as well as the stakeholders for the success of the exercise.

He praised his co-contestants for their magnanimity, adding he would reach out to them to that APC could be on the path of peace in the state again.

He called on the Governor,Mr Godwin Obaseki, who dumped APC for PDP to return to APC so “that we can work together for the development of the state.”

He preached peaceful campaign pointing out “it is time bring peace back to the state.”

Ize-Iyamu, thanked President Muhammadu Buhari as well as other stake holders in APC for ensuring peaceful atmosphere for the success of the exercise.
