Traditional ruler’s wife calls on wealthy to care for needy

The wife of the Emir of Ilorin, Hajiya Rafat Sulu-Gambari, on Sunday called on the wealthy individuals in the society to always take care of those in need, for the sake of peaceful coexistence and sense of belonging.

Hajiya Sulu-Gambari made the call while speaking at the Maolud Nabbiy and the Turbaning of Sheikh Abdullahi EL-Hassan Zathullahi as the Sarkin Samarin Addini at the Emir’s Palace in Ilorin.

She said: “Yhe needy should be supported to reduce criminal activities in the society.

“Wealthy individuals and corporate organisations have a duty to complement government efforts in providing amenities to those in need.”

The emir’s wife also challenged religious leaders to always preach love, peace and development of the society.

In his remark after being Turbaned as the Sarkin Samarin Addini of Her Royal Highness Alasalatu, Sheikh Abdullahi EL-Hassan Zathullahi promised that he would use his new position to support the needy, youths and promote Islam.

Sheik Zathullahi urged those in the position of authority to always carry their followers along in decision- making process in order to contribute to uplifting the society.

He, also advised youths on the importance of peaceful coexistence in the society stressing that “your future is more guaranteed under the peaceful atmosphere.”
