Excitement is building in Ogori as the much-anticipated Ovia Osese festival begins this Sunday, April 11, 2026, with a spiritually uplifting Praise Night, setting the tone for a week-long celebration of culture, unity, and heritage.

The organising committee, led by Pastor Flourish Atoju,in a statement made available to The Reporters in Lokoja on Saturday promised a unique and unforgettable experience this year, describing the event as a vibrant blend of soul-lifting worship and rich cultural expression.

According to the committee, participating groups and performers have already arrived in Ogori, creating a buzz of anticipation across the community.

“We are set for a powerful session as we round off preparations. “This year’s edition will also feature special award presentations to outstanding sons and daughters of Ogori who have passionately promoted the Oko language through music. It’s our way of celebrating those keeping our identity alive,”Pastor Atojusaid said.

He extended an open invitation to lovers of worship and culture, assuring them of an atmosphere charged with divine presence and heartfelt praise.

“If you cherish spirit-filled worship, this is a gathering you cannot afford to miss. Come and experience a refreshing encounter this Sunday,” he added.

He added that beyond the Praise Night, 2026 Ovia Osese edition promises a rich lineup of activities leading up to the grand finale on Saturday, April 18.

According to him,the festival will feature engaging sporting competitions, a free health outreach for residents, intellectually stimulating debates and quizzes, as well as a colourful cooking contest showcasing local delicacies.

As the countdown begins, Ogori stands ready to host guests and indigenes alike in what promises to be a remarkable celebration of faith, culture, and community spirit.
