The Ade Bada Foundation International has announced plans to host its 2nd Biennial Lecture aimed at deepening advocacy for persons living with disabilities and promoting inclusive leadership in society.
This is contained in a statement signed by the founder of the organization,Mr.Ade Bada and made a copy available to The Reporters in Lokoja on Saturday
The event is scheduled to hold on Friday, April 24, 2026, at the Kogi State NUJ Press Centre, Lokoja, beginning at 10:00 a.m,he added.
“Themed “United for Ability: Leadership, Vision, Inclusion,” the lecture will bring together advocates, policy makers, development partners, media professionals and members of the public to deliberate on issues affecting persons with disabilities while highlighting practical models of resilience, inclusion and social impact,” he said.
The Foundation is named after veteran journalist, Ade Bada, whose life story continues to inspire advocacy for the rights and empowerment of the physically challenged, according to the statement.
Mr. Bada, a former reporter with Daily Times Nigeria, Vanguard Newspaper, Kogi Express, and People and Politics, lost his sight to glaucoma at the peak of his journalism career.
Rather than give in to despair, he turned his personal challenge into a platform for social change by establishing the Ade Bada Foundation to champion the cause of persons living with disabilities in Nigeria and beyond.
The biennial lecture will also feature the induction of honorary patrons and an award investiture ceremony to honour distinguished individuals who have made significant humanitarian contributions to disability advocacy and support.
The Chairman of the Planning Committee and Secretary of the Foundation, Michael Olanipekun, said the event is also designed to stimulate fresh thinking and strengthen collaboration in advancing the rights of persons with disabilities.
According to him, “the lecture is not only to inspire new thinking on disability leadership but also to galvanise partnerships capable of delivering real change to those who need it most.”
The Ade Bada Foundation International has therefore extended an invitation to stakeholders and members of the public to attend the lecture and join the collective effort toward building a more inclusive society.
