Early Hour Robbery in Nasarawa:Police Arrest 2 Armed Suspects, Recover Gun, Motorcycle

Police operatives attached to the Nasarawa Division have arrested two suspected armed robbers, Isaac Audu and Jamilu Yusuf, following a swift operation that led to the recovery of a locally fabricated firearm and a stolen motorcycle.

Nasarawa State, disclosed in a statement he signed in Lafia and made available a copy to The Reporters on Sunday.

He said the arrest followed an incident that occurred in the early hours of December 20, 2025, when the suspects allegedly attacked a resident of the Foundation Area, behind the Federal Polytechnic Staff School, Nasarawa.

The Police image maker said the suspects, armed with a locally made gun, dispossessed the victim of his unregistered Bajaj motorcycle at about 12:10 a.m.

According to him,preliminary investigations, timely intelligence received by the police proved crucial in tracking the suspects, led to the arrest of the suspects

During the operation, officers recovered the locally fabricated firearm used in the attack as well as the stolen motorcycle, which have been secured as exhibits.

He quoted the Commissioner of Police, Nasarawa State Command, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, as commending the оперативeness of the officers involved in the operation and charged all personnel to remain proactive and vigilant in the discharge of their duties.

The CP reassured residents of the state of the Command’s commitment to ensuring a peaceful and secure Yuletide season but urged them to continue to support security agencies with timely and useful information to help curb crime and enhance public safety across Nasarawa State.

The PPRO said that the suspects are currently in police custody, adding that they will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
