President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the reconstitution of the Boards of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF), both under the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy.
In the new appointments, Mr. Idris Olorunnimbe emerges as Chairman of the NCC Board, while Dr. Aminu Maida retains his position as Executive Vice-Chairman/Chief Executive Officer (EVC/CEO) of the Commission.
Dr. Maida was first appointed substantive EVC/CEO in October 2023 and confirmed by the Senate the following month. Olorunnimbe, a former board member of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), previously chaired its Stakeholder and Governance Committee and has been instrumental in driving youth employment and entrepreneurship programmes in Lagos.
The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, announced the appointments in a statement on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. Other members of the NCC Board include:

In a related development, President Tinubu also approved the reconstitution of the USPF Board with Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, as Chairman. Olorunnimbe will serve as Vice-Chairman.
