Nigerian farmers have been encouraged to embrace moringa-based organic fertilizer to boost agricultural productivity, improve soil health, and enhance foreign revenue earnings.
The Managing Director and CEO of Eden e-Moringa Productions and Marketers Limited, Dr. Ashimashiga Akoloaga, made this call during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Middle Belt Youth Development Organization (MBYDEVO) in Nyanya, Abuja.

Dr. Akoloaga, a native of Nasarawa State, urged farmers’ cooperatives and groups to partner with Eden Moringa for the distribution of e-Moringa fertilizer and related products within Nigeria and internationally.
He described moringa as a “miracle plant” capable of restoring soil fertility depleted by years of reliance on chemical fertilizers. According to him, moringa not only revitalizes farmland but also has significant medicinal properties.
“We can no longer endure the damage to our soil caused by imported chemical fertilizers. These fertilizers degrade our land and create dependence on foreign manufacturers. Moringa is a scientifically proven solution that promotes both agricultural sustainability and public health,” Akoloaga stated.
He further emphasized that the MoU with MBYDEVO was designed to encourage youth participation in moringa farming while educating farmers on cultivating moringa to meet international standards.
Speaking after the agreement signing, former senator and grand patron of MBYDEVO, Professor Iyorwuese Hagher, called on all levels of government and tertiary institutions to invest in moringa farming. He highlighted its potential for revenue generation, job creation, and health benefits.
“We need to go natural. If we cultivate moringa and make it widely available, we will have a healthier population. Planting moringa is an affordable path to wellness and economic empowerment,” Hagher said.
He also urged universities and polytechnics to establish moringa farms to boost their revenue and promote agricultural research. “One moringa seed holds more value than an AK-47. Agriculture is the foundation of our nation’s security,” he added.
The President of MBYDEVO, Chris Aba, reiterated the benefits of moringa products and called on investors to support moringa farming for Nigeria’s socio-economic development. He announced that a warehouse has been secured in Lafia, Nasarawa State, to ensure farmers have easy access to moringa fertilizers as the planting season begins.
The MoU was signed between the Moringa Productions, Marketers, and Farmers Welfare and Empowerment Association of Nigeria, Eden Moringa Productions and Marketers Limited, Middle Belt Youth Development Organization, and Agreco Shift Limited.
