Over 600,000 students have benefited from the newly introduced Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), with over ₦104 billion disbursed to beneficiaries.
In addition,₦940.5 billion has been allocated to the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) in the 2025 budget, underscoring the present administration’s commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure and workforce development.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by Hajiya Rakiya Iliyasu Gambo, Director in the Federal Ministry of Education, made this disclosure during the 42nd Founder’s Day and 33rd Convocation ceremony of the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna on Saturday.
Tinubu emphasized that these investments align with the administration’s goal of addressing the socio-economic needs and aspirations of the nation, particularly through a knowledge-driven society.
According to him,the federal government is committed to creating a diversified economy through substantial investments in education and infrastructure, as detailed in the National Development Plan (NDP).
Tinubu congratulated the graduating students, acknowledging their hard work and the university’s role in delivering quality education.
In recognition of their contributions to national development, Governor Alhaji Uba Sani, Governor Mohammed Umar Bago, and Senator Sani Musa were honored with the FUT Minna Honorary Degree Award.
