Labour party unveils candidate for kogi governorship election.

Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party,LP, in the last presidential election in the country,Mr. Peter Obi,has urged electorate in Kogi State to vote for LP in the November 11, governorship election for the emancipation of the state and its people.

Obi,who is the leader of the party, gave the advice in Lokoja on Thursday during the official presentation of the party’s gubernatorial candidate Adejoh Okeme for the election in Kogi State.
Obi,who noted that Kogi state has no business being poor by virtue of its enormous potential, wondered why a state that host the giant steel company, River Niger and Benue, including numerous mineral resources, wallowed in abject poverty and penury.
He further advised the electorate not to allow themselves to be deceived again by “sugar coated mouth politicians” who would lure them for votes and after election, abandoned them to their fate.
The former presidential candidate of Labour Party stated that when he held sway as the governor of Anambra State for eight years, he was able to transform education, health and infrastructure that bettered the lives of the citizens in the state.
He told the electorate that if they want similar development in Kogi State in the next two years, they should use their Permanent Voters Card, PVC to usher in the candidate of Labour Party for prosperity.
Contributing,the National Woman Leader of the party, Dudu Manuga, called on the electorate to get ready with their Permanent Voters Card to effect positive change that would bring about emancipation and development in their lives.

In his address, the National Chairman of the party, Julius Agure, lamented the backwardness of Kogi State in all sectors, urging the people of the state to vote for Labour Party as the only alternative to other political parties in the state, including the ruling APC.
He noted that the November 11, governorship election had created another opportunity for the people to vote the candidate that would right the wrong of the past and present leadership of the state for better.
He pointed out that the candidate of Labour Party in the Kogi governorship election has the experience, the capacity and the education to take the state to the promise land and urged the electorate not to lose the rare opportunity coming their ways during election.
The candidate of the party,Adejoh Okeme, from Kogi East,in his speech, stated that time had come for the people of the state to take their destiny in their hands by voting for a political party that has human face.
He said that Labour Party has agenda and policies that would transform the state and urged the electorate to vote for him.
He assured that a vote for him to win the election would him yo utilize his wealth of experience and capacity to harness the abandoned resources of the state for the betterment of the people.
