The 36 Political Elevation Group (36 PEG) has called on eligible Nigerians to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise,by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to strengthen democratic participation and ensure accountable governance.
In a statement issued by the Director General of the group, Hon. Chief Sanmi Isola Oluleye, on behalf of the Office of the President, Prince Dan Olaitan Dada, on Tuesday,the organisation described the exercise as a critical opportunity for citizens to secure their place in the nation’s democratic process.
“At 36 PEG, we strongly believe that no government can truly be accountable when the citizens who give it legitimacy are absent from the voters’ register.
“Through our grassroots and diaspora mobilization efforts, we have consistently seen that active citizen participation compels leadership to be more responsive and responsible.
“We therefore urge traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil society organisations, student bodies, market associations, and diaspora networks to mobilize their communities during this crucial period.
“The future of Nigeria’s democratic development depends on the decisions we make today and those decisions begin with having a valid voter’s card,” it said.
The group commended INEC for the commencement of Phase III of the nationwide CVR exercise scheduled to run from May 11 to July 10, 2026.
“Your Voter’s Card Is Your Voice ,Register, Transfer, Update Before 10th July 2026,”36 PEG further advised Nigerians of voting age.
The grouo noted that the registration window would enable Nigerians, both within the country and in the diaspora, to fulfil their civic responsibilities and contribute meaningfully to the strengthening of democracy.
It also urged Nigerians who had attained the age of 18 and were yet to register to do so without delay, while those who had relocated to other parts of the country were advised to transfer their voter registration to their new locations.
The grouo also encouraged citizens with lost, damaged or defaced Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to apply for replacements in order not to be disenfranchised during future elections.
The organisation further appealed to voters to update their personal details,where necessary, to ensure accurate voter records.
“INEC has confirmed that both online pre-registration and physical registration at designated centres will be available, while the IVED rotation system introduced during Phase II will remain in operation,” the group added.
Emphasizing on the importance of the exercise, 36 PEG stressed that active participation in the electoral process remained the foundation of accountable leadership.

It called on traditional rulers, religious leaders, civil society organisations, student bodies, market associations and diaspora networks to mobilise members of their communities to participate in the CVR exercise.
“The future of Nigeria’s democratic development depends on the decisions we make today , and those decisions begin with having a valid voter’s card,” according to 36 PEG.
36 PEG reaffirmed its commitment to supporting INEC in promoting an inclusive, credible and participatory electoral process across the country.
“We remain committed to working with relevant stakeholders to ensure that no eligible Nigerian is left behind,” the group added.
The organisation further charged Nigerians to “Register. Transfer. Update. Vote. Protect Your Voice,” to enable them cast their votes in the next general elections effectively.
