L-R: Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo,Elder Friday Sani Makama.

The Kogi State Director General, Special Task force on Illegal Smuggling of Fire Arms and Other Related Crimes Elder Friday Sani Makama has congratulated the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) and the Party Candidate in the November 11 Governorship election, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo over his High Court Victory affirming him as the party flag bearer.

Recall that, a Federal High Court in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja dismissed a suit filed by an aspirant in the All Progressives Congress’ governorship primaries in Kogi State, Senator Smart Adeyemi, against the emergence of the candidate of the party, Usman Ododo, saying it lacks merit.

Our correspondent recalled that while delivering judgement in the suit marked “FHC/CS/556/2023 Smart Adeyemi v. APC & 2 Ors”, on Wednesday, Justice J.K. Omotosho held that Adeyemi’s allegations were criminal in nature, as he alleged that elections did not hold and that the produced results were forged.

In a congratulatory message, signed by Makama on Wednesday, he described the verdict of the High Court as a victory for democracy and the entire people of Kogi State.

The APC Chieftain, while describing Alhaji Ododo as a pure democrat who is ready to serve the people of Kogi State said, the overwhelming support which the APC candidate has gained over the years with his track record is a clear indication that, the November Governorship election is a done deal for the ruling APC.

According to him, it is high time for party loyalists to close ranks, put their heads together by ensuring that, APC wins the next election.

He commended the judiciary for always standing in part of justice for Nigerians.

He said:” “Kogi State is an APC State. There is no sentiment about this. In the last eight years, our amiable Governor, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, has piloted the affairs of this State by delivering almost 100 percent for our party in every election.

“Through this man, Kogi has been transformed to a state which is worthy of emulation. With his track record, we need someone who will continue the good work of this man, irrespective of our tribe or interest.

” The person who is really capable, determined and resilient to do this is no other person than Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo. This Man is a gift to Kogi State just like our Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

“He has been chosen by God to take us to the high level of greatness in Kogi State. Anybody who is trying to stop God ordained person, to move our State forward is only fighting God. His Federal High Court Victory on Wednesday didn’t come to me as a surprise.

“We all saw it coming. This is the way it will also be come November 11 by the special Grace of God. While we are all rejoicing for this land mark victory through the judiciary which is indeed the last hope of the common Man, am using this medium to appeal to party members, aggrieved individuals to come and let us unite for a better Kogi State project.

“This Project, Alhaji Usman Ahmed, is for all of us. We should come together, unite, speak with one voice and ensure that, APC continues its good work in Kogi State. I am very positive that our candidate will continue from where our amiable leader has stopped.

Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, former Auditor General for Local Government in Kogi State, emerged the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial primary election held in April 2023.

Ododo, who scored, who 78,704 votes, won the direct primary election with a wide margin to defeat six other contestants in the governorship race.
