The Governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Yahaha Bello,has tasked current leaders in the country to ensure that they cater for the families of fallen heroes, adding that those alive must be well appreciated and rewarded so that their sacrifices would not be in vain.
He stated this in Lokoja on Sunday at the 2023 Armed forces Remembrance Day celebration, where he assured that his government would continue to do it’s best to reward their sacrifices.
He said “Today, we are commemorating the memories our fallen heroes, the Nigerian Armed Forces and all Uniformed men who have paid the supreme sacrifice so that we can live in peace and harmony”
“I appreciate the Nigerian Armed Forces, Police, Department of State Securities, Civil Defence Corps and other uniformed Men for their sacrifices and services across the nation and specifically in Kogi State”.
The Governor warned politicians against mixing politics with security of lives and livelihoods, despite the fact that the nation was in its political season.
According to him, the security formations in the state have continued to do their best in ousting criminals from the society, reiterating that criminals have no place under his administration in Kogi state, hence his government would continue to apprehend and make them to face the full wrath of the law.
Bello promised that his government would continue to pay serious attention to the security, safety and well-being of the lives and livelihood of its citizens as well as passers-by.
He stressed that no individual, irrespective of how highly placed, must take laws into their hands and hide under the guise of politics to import criminals and terrorists into the state, adding that anyone caught would be dealt with decisively.
