Community Initiative to promote peace under Interfaith Mediation Centre, (IMC),a NGO,has assured Nigerians of its bcommitment to ensure violence free general elections in 2023.
The State Coordinator of the organization, Mr. Emmanuel Ayodeji, gave the assurance at the meeting of its members in Lokoja on Wednesday.
According to him,the NGO is aimed at ensuring peaceful coexistence among people across communities, irrespective of religious, ethnic and political party leaning.

He commended Community Peace Observers and other members, for their efforts towards the growth and sustainable achievement of the organization.
The State Coordinator appealed to media to ensure adequate publicity of the activities of the organization in the areas of sensitisation, education and advocacy, on the need to ensure a peaceful conduct of next year general elections.
In her remarks, Director, state Ministry Women Affairs and Social Development, Mr.Josephine Babatunde Motu noted that women and Youths were the most vulnerable during elections.
He, therefore,appealed to community peace Observers to carry them along in the areas of sensitisation and activities of the organization,to ensure election free violence.
In their various remarks, Community Peace Observers, Festus Toba, Aliyu Yakubu, Akoh Paul and Aminu Faruna, from Yagba West, Lokoja, Dekina and Igala-mela local government areas of the state said they were putting effort in place to ensure that the organization achieve set goals across communities in the state.
They called on members of the organization to ensure collective responsibility in the areas of planning, sensitisation, education and advocacy towards violence free elections in 2023.
