Brother kills brother while testing potency of charmed gun

A 12-year-old boy,Abubakar Abubakar, has shot his younger brother,Yusuf Abubakar dead while testing the potency of charmed gun in Dutse Gogo town via Kaiama town in Kwara state, Central Nigeria.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, for the Police Command in the state,SP Okasanmi Ajayi, revealed this in a statement he issue in Ilorin on Monday and a copy of which is made available to The Reporters.

According to Ajayi, at about 2200hrs of 2/10/2022, a report was received at Kaiama police station about the killing of one Yusuf Abubakar, aged 12 years by his elder brother, Abubakar Abubakar both sons of one Abubakar Abubakar, a hunter in Dutse Gogo town via Kaiama.

He said the tragedy happened during the process of testing the efficacy of newly procured gunshot protective charm.

The Police image maker added that after fortifying themselves with the protective charm, the elder son brought his father’s dane gun and shot his younger sibling, the charm failed and Yusuf Abubakar died on the spot.

“The culprit escaped into the bushes immediately the act was committed.

“Investigation into the matter has commenced as directed by the Commissioner of Police Kwara State, CP Paul Odama psc” he said.

Ajayi urged parents and others in care of children to “monitor the activities of their children and avoid doing certain unsavory activities while their children and wards watch, to prevent incident of this nature.”
