Put all security measures in place for peaceful Sallah,Kogi CP directs DPOs, others

The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command,CP Edward Egbuka,has directed all the Divisional Police Officers( DPOs) in the command to put all security measures in place for peaceful Eid-El-Kabir Celebration in the state.

The CP also gave similar directive to supervisory Area Commanders and Tactical Commanders to beef-up security ahead of the celebration.

He said in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer( PPRO) for the command,SP William Ovye Aya in Lokoja on Friday, that the directive was to prevent any untoward situation in their Area of Responsibility (AoR) throughout the Eid-el-Kabir season and beyond.

According to him, those directed are to amongst other activities, deploy human and other operational assets to carry out confidence building and crime prevention patrols on major highways, residential and, vulnerable points, places of worship and other places of public interest.

Egbuka,who assured of adequate security measures, wished the Muslims a happy and peaceful celebration with promise of sustained efforts by the Command in fighting crimes and criminality and improving public safety and security across the state.

He also assured the public of the Command’s level of preparedness, determination and commitment in synergy with other security agencies in ensuring safety of lives and property of citizens, and denying space for crimes and criminality to thrive in and around the state.

The CP, however, urged law abiding people of the state to remain security conscious throughout the period and beyond by collaborating with the security Forces with credible and useful information on the activities of criminal elements to curtail their acts.
