Former Army Chief Urges Traditional rulers’ Cooperation With Army to End War on Terrorism

Former Army Chief, now Ambassador to Benin Republic, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai, (trd),has appealed to traditional institutions and the the Nigeria public in general to cooperate and assist the Army, in its quest to end all forms of terrorism and banditry and move the nation forward.

General Tukur Yusuf Buratai made the appeal at the Command Science Secondary School, Saki, Oyo State after he cut the tape of the school modern gate and unveiled the road named after him.

He pointed out that the security agencies could not totally eradicate all forms of insecurity in the country without the collaboration and good information sharing from the locals and the members of the public.

The envoy,who appreciated the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya, for approving naming the school road after him, also commended him for all the developmental projects in the school within a short period of its establishment.

He urged the students to pay more attention to their academic and vocational studies, for them to become better citizens in the future.

Ambassador Buratai poured accolades on the Oyo State government, traditional rulers and the good people of Saki Kingdom for donating the parcel of land in which the school is cited and callex on them to protect and guide the edifice jealously.

Goodwill messages were delivered by Lieutenant General Lamidi Adeosun rtd, the General Officer Commanding, 2 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Gold Chibuisi, Corps Commander, Nigerian Army Education and His Royal Highness, Olowu of Kuta on behalf of other traditional rulers.

Dignitaries present at the occasion include;the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan, serving and retired military officers, traditional rulers, heads of paramilitary, security agencies in the area and prominent indigenes of Saki Kingdom.

Our Correspondent reports that the highpoints of the programme include inspection of quarter guard presented by the students of Command Science Secondary School Saki, commissioning of the modern school gate, Unveiling of the road named after Buratai, planting of trees and group photograph.
