Traffic warden steals gun, deliver to suspected cultists on sale

Sergeant Haruna Yusuff, a traffic warden attached to Omu-Aran division of the Nigeria police, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara has confessed to stealing a gun and sold it to cultists.

He made the revalation on Friday in Osogbo, Osun state, where he and six other suspected criminals belonging to Aiye confraternity were parade before the public by the Commissioner of Police,Osun state Command,CP Olawale Olokode.

The suspect,who was arrested by by operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team ( IRT), further disclosed that he stole the riffle from a former Station Officer in Omu-Aran.

The suspect, who said that he did not know what came over him when he committed the crime, but the gun for N47,000 to the suspected cult members,further told Journalists that the former station officer had been dismissed for the missing gun.

Our Correspondent gathered that
the suspected cultists were responsible for violent criminal attacks in Omu Aran and neighbouring communities in Kwara State.

The online publication further gathered that IRT operatives in Osun State were on to prevent an attack on the state, allegedly by suspected cult members, when one of them was nabbed,a development that led to the arrest Yusuf and other members of the group.

They were also said to have disclosed to the IRT operatives that, Yusuf sold the gun to them.
