Son allegedly pays assassin over N100,000 to kill father in Niger

Abubakar Mohammed Buba(20s), who allegedly paid hired assassin to kill his father, Alhaji Mohammed Buba (52) with the intention of acquiring his assets,is now in police net in Minna,Niger state.

DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Police Command in the state,who disclosed this, said Buba of Gidan Madara area of Chanchaga, Minna was arrested December 29,2021.

According to him, the suspect was nabbed by Police operatives attached to Chanchaga Division while his accomplice had been at large, adding that Buba would soon face charges bordering on criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide.

He said the hired assassin stabbed the victim to death at his residence, Korokpan, Paikoro Local Government Area of the state on October 13, 2021, pointing out that on interrogation, Buba onfessed to have conspired with one Aliyu Mohammed of Chanchaga to kill his own father.

Abiodun said the suspect led Police operatives to Tagwai-Dam, where Buba’s severe body was packed in a sack, adding that Buba also cconfessed to have paid N110, 000 instalment to the fleeing assassin Aliyu to commit the crime.

Giving more insight into the alleged crime, the PPRO further disclosed that Buba deposited N50,000 and paid the balance of N60,000 as soon as his was killed, adding that the suspect got the balance from the sale of his father’s property.

Abiodun,who expressed the commitment of the police to arrest the fleeing hitman Aliyu Mohammed, assured the long arm of the law would soon catch up with the alleged fleeing assassin for him to commence prosecution in court, after investigation into the case must have been completed.
