In a landmark recognition of visionary leadership and dedication to community development, His Royal Highness, Oba Dr. Olusegun Rotimi, the Obajisun of Ayedunland, has been elevated to the prestigious First Class status in the Kwara State Council of Emirs and Obas by the state government.
Alhaji Mustapha Lamidi, former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kwara State, in a statement signed signed and made available to The Reporters from Ilorin on Saturday,extended his heartfelt congratulations to the traditional ruler on this historic achievement.
Alhaji Lamidi praised the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari (CON), and all members of the Kwara State Council of Emirs and Obas for their role in endorsing Oba Rotimi’s elevation.
He also commended the Kwara State Government, led by Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq (CON), the Executive Governor of Kwara and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, for recognizing and uplifting a leader whose reign has been marked by unprecedented development in Ayedun Town.
He expressed optimism that the town would continue to more thrive under Oba Rotimi’s leadership.
“By the grace of God, your reign will endure in an atmosphere of peace, happiness, and progressive development in all fields of human endeavor,” he prayed.
The former NUJ chairman confirmed that since his ascension to the throne, Oba Rotimi’s reign has been synonymous with transformational leadership, driving infrastructural development, fostering community unity, and inspiring hope among the people of Ayedunland.
“This elevation to First Class status cements his legacy as a leader of distinction and a beacon of progress for the entire state,” Lamidi said.
