A legal practitioner and public affairs advocate, Mr.Andrew Akor, aka SOFO,has called on the people of Ogori/Magongo, Kogi Central Senatorial District of Kogi State to embrace the New Year with renewed hope, unity and a commitment to purposeful action aimed at building a more prosperous society.
In his New Year message made available to The Reporters in Lokoja on Tuesday,Akor said the beginning of the year offers an opportunity for reflection and a reaffirmation of the collective strength, shared values and vast potential of the people, particularly the resilient and peace-loving communities of Ogori/Magongo.
He acknowledged that the people’s journey has been marked by challenges, but stressed that history has consistently shown that progress is achieved through perseverance.
According to him, the future holds promise if unity is allowed to prevail over division, opportunities are deliberately created to replace hardship, and good governance becomes a reality in every household.
Akor noted that sustainable development can only be achieved in a society where the voices of the people are heard and youths powered to contribute meaningfully to growth, elders are accorded due respect, and communities are able to live in peace and dignity.
He said the New Year places a renewed responsibility on leaders to be accountable, inclusive and responsive to the genuine needs of the people, while urging citizens to remain actively engaged, optimistic and committed to the collective vision of a stronger, fairer and more prosperous Kogi State.
Calling for courage and unity, Akor urged the people to believe in a future anchored on justice, development, integrity and equal opportunity for all.
He described the New Year as a fresh chapter that should be defined by progress, renewed trust and shared hope.
The legal practitioner prayed for peace, growth and lasting prosperity across Ogori/Magongo, Kogi Central and the entire state, expressing confidence that through unity and collective resolve, the people would rise to greater heights.
