It was a day of inspiration and renewed ambition at Summit University, Offa, Kwara State, as the campus welcomed Dr. Musodiq Bello, a distinguished Nigerian expert working with GE Healthcare in the United States. His visit, hosted by the Innovation and Advanced Science Research Group (IASRG) in partnership with the Group for Research Advancement and Innovation Network (GRAIN) under the Democratisation of Environmental Literacy in Post-Primary Schools in Nigeria (DELitE) project, drew a lively audience of students and staff eager to connect with his personal and professional journey.
From the outset, Dr. Bello’s warm presence and engaging delivery created an atmosphere of genuine connection. Far from a routine lecture, his session unfolded as a heartfelt dialogue that sparked critical thinking and self-reflection. With vivid anecdotes and real-life examples, he emphasized the transformative power of education,calling on academic staff to embrace their roles not just as instructors, but as architects of society.
Teaching, he said, is a lifelong responsibility to uplift others and inspire change.
Turning to the subject of research, Dr. Bello underscored curiosity as the engine of innovation.

In a separate session with members of GRAIN, Dr. Bello addressed themes of personal growth and productivity. Challenging the myth that multitasking leads to mediocrity, he argued that with clarity, focus, and effective time management, success across multiple pursuits is possible.
The academic stressed that career transitions,especially into tech-related fields,are not only achievable but increasingly essential.
Reframing the idea of time management, he explained that it’s less about hours and more about outcomes.
He urged students to build personal brands, explore ways to monetise their knowledge, and complement academic credentials with practical skills and micro-certifications.
“No knowledge is ever wasted,” he declared.What counts is vision, goal-setting, and intentionality. Passion, planning, and persistence are the real pillars of progress,”he stressed.
