In a series of daring operations, the Nigeria Police Force says it has dismantled a dangerous criminal network involved in arms smuggling, drug trafficking, and currency counterfeiting, arresting key players in these illicit activities.

According to Force PRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi in Abuja on Tuesday, the success of the operations was due to the relentless efforts of the Force’s specialized tactical teams, including the Force Intelligence Department-Special Tactical Squad (FID-STS).

He recalled that one of the most significant busts took place on December 23, 2024, when FID-STS operatives intercepted Hauwa Sani, a 30-year-old woman from Doro village, along the Keffi/Abuja Expressway.

According to him, the suspect is found with 124 rounds of live ammunition of various calibres, cleverly concealed inside a 5-litre container of palm oil.

During questioning, Sani revealed that she had been tasked by a suspect named Nasiru, based in Daura, to deliver the ammunition to Katsina State.

ACP Adejobi added that this revelation led to further investigations, uncovering additional smuggling operations and multiple arrests, all of which are now under intense scrutiny.

He urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities, as further arrests and seizures continue to unfold.

The force PRO further revealed that in a separate operation on February 1, FID-STS operatives, acting on credible intelligence, intercepted three men from Postiskum, Yobe State, a development he said further dismantled the criminal network.
