A cross-section of the newly promoted officers of the Ogun 1 Area Command on Thursday in Idiroko.

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Ogun 1 Area Command, on Thursday, held a ceremony in Idiroko, Ogun State, to decorate 60 of its newly promoted officers.
At the event, the Area Comptroller, Mr. Muhammad Shuaibu, urged the officers to equip themselves with the necessary knowledge, skills, and tools to excel and fulfill the core mandates of the service.
He emphasized that their promotion was a reflection of their past achievements and an encouragement to continue performing at the highest level in their new ranks.
While congratulating the officers, Shuaibu reminded them that their elevation was a recognition of their professionalism, dedication, and outstanding performance.
He also pointed out that the promotion demonstrated the service’s confidence in their abilities to assume greater responsibilities and deliver even more in their roles.
“Today, we not only celebrate these well-deserved promotions but also recognize the hard work, commitment, and resilience of our officers who have consistently upheld the values and objectives of the NCS,” said Shuaibu.
He further urged the officers to remain committed to the NCS’s core mandates, which include revenue generation, anti-smuggling operations, and trade facilitation—critical components for the economic growth and security of the country.
Shuaibu also encouraged the officers to consistently reflect the core values of the NCS, including integrity, diligence, and patriotism, in their conduct.
He urged officers who were not promoted to stay motivated and continue working hard, reassuring them that their time would come.
Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, Chief Superintendent of Customs (SC) A. Idris expressed gratitude to God and to the NCS management for their trust.
Idris promised that the officers would remain dedicated to their roles and do everything in their power to contribute to the NCS’s mission.
