Senator Barnabas Gemade, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has affirmed his commitment to supporting Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, in his efforts to transform the state’s governance.

Speaking at a grand reception organized by the APC Youth Forum for appointees to Federal Boards from Benue State, Gemade highlighted the governor’s dedication to fair and impactful appointments.

“We are working tirelessly with Governor Alia, who is making significant strides to change the narrative in Benue. Historically, appointments were skewed in an unpalatable manner, but the governor has ensured fair representation for Benue,” he stated.

Gemade praised Governor Alia for his decisive intervention in the recent appointments to the Federal Boards of tertiary institutions, noting that 13 Benue indigenes were included in the revised list.

“The governor’s leadership ensured that qualified individuals from Benue were appointed, reflecting a commitment to meritocracy rather than favoritism,” he added.

Remarking, Engr Innocent Ikwumonu, Chairman of the occasion, who urged the people of Benue to continue supporting Alia in his developmental efforts acknowledged the governor’s achievements in infrastructure and other areas, attributing them to a leadership style that resonates with the people’s aspirations.

Gemade however expressed confidence in Governor Alia’s potential for a successful eight-year tenure, underscoring the importance of sustained support to counter any opposition to the governor’s re-election.

“Governor Alia deserves a second term more than anyone before him, and we are committed to ensuring that happens,” he said.
