The 36 Political Elevation Group (36 PEG), a non-partisan political advocacy organisation, has commended the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, for his candid admission on the impact of the recent exits of former presidential candidates Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso from the party.
In a statement issued on Friday in Abuja by the Director-General, Hon. Chief Sanmi Oluleye, 36 PEG described Mark’s remarks as a mark of political maturity and leadership responsibility.
Speaking at a forum of former federal lawmakers at the ADC national secretariat in Abuja, Senator Mark had said, *“No doubt, the exit of Obi and Kwankwaso has its impact but that will spur us to work harder.”*
According to 36 PEG, acknowledging political realities is the first step toward rebuilding stronger structures and restoring public confidence ahead of future elections.
The group urged the ADC to consider strategic alignment with the present administration’s Renewed Hope agenda, arguing that policy continuity and national stability are best served through collaboration rather than confrontation.
“At this critical point, Nigeria’s political stability and policy continuity are best served by strategic alignment with the present administration. For opposition parties seeking relevance in 2027, collaboration offers the fastest route to policy influence and electoral credibility,” the statement read.
36 PEG reaffirmed its commitment to supporting credible leadership across party lines and said it stands ready to facilitate dialogue and grassroots mobilisation that can bridge the gap between opposition structures and government policy.
The group noted that such alignment would give ADC and its stakeholders a clearer path to delivering results for Nigerians and improving electoral prospects in the 2027 general elections.
36 PEG said it remains focused on promoting accountable leadership and credible electoral outcomes through structured engagement with political actors nationwide.
