The Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, says it received the news of the death of the Elulu of Mopaland and Chairman, Mopamuro Local Government Traditional Council, HRM. Oba Julius Olufunsho Joledo, JP with a heavy heart.
Chief Dayo Akande,the Akogun of Mopaland, the State Publicity Secretary,People’s Democratic Party,stated this in a statement he signed in Lokoja on Tuesday and availed a copy to The Reporters.
He said:”His death came to us as a rude shock but the testimony of his impactful lifestyle gave us a sense of relief.
“Over the years, Oba Julius Joledo has been a bridge builder, a peacemaker and a traditional ruler who derives joy in community development.
“His reign brought transformation to Mopaland and it is evident, by the order of peace the community enjoys under his rulership.
“Our heart goes with his immediate family, Mopa traditional council and Mopamuro Traditional Council which He chaired until his demise.”
The party noted the departed monarch offered his shoulders to all political parties to lean on and draw from his wealth of experience in community development.
“As a party, the PDP shall not derail from his path of peace and we shall sustain his legacies even as the coming election will surely change hands and bring about power shift.
“On behalf of the Caretaker Committee, under the leadership of Distinguished Senator Philip Tenimu Aduda, We pray for the repose of the soul of the departed Royal Father and the fortitude of the family, Mopaland and the Mopamuro people to bear the irreparable loss,” Akande added.
