The Police Command in kogi state says it has arrested one Victoria Bamidele,said to be the step mother of an 11-year-old boy, Friday Oshodi,buried alive at Apamsede,near lokoja,few days ago by his elder half brother ,Goodness Oshodi for allegedly stealing N1,000.
The Police Public Relations Officer,PPRO,for the command,SP.William Ovie Aya,who disclosed this in an interview with our correspondent at the Police headquarters in Lokoja on Friday,said the woman had been out under interrogation over her alleged role in the matter.
He said:”During police interrogation, the step mother said that Friday, who is noted for stealing money, committed the crime again and left home for two months.
“She further told the police that upon his return home, she ordered Goodness Oshodi, to punish him but that she did not ask Goodness to bury Friday alive.”
The PPRO also told The Reporters that the police had gone into orphanage home, where Friday is being kept, to get his statement matched it with that of the step mother as well as that of Goodness to conclude their investigation in the case.
He promised that as soon as police finish their investigation ,the step mother and Goodness would be charged to court to face justice.
