Late Maigari of Lokoja,jaAlhaji Muhammadu Kabir Maikarfi lll(OON).

Alhaji Muhammadu Kabir Maikarfi lll,the Maigari of Lokoja in Kogi State, who died on Wednesday evening at the age of 80 was on Thursday buried in Lokoja amid encomiums from various important personalities that attended the occasion.
Our Correspondent reports that the deceased who ascended the throne in 1992, making him one of the longest reigning Royal fathers in the state, was the Chairman, Lokoja Local Governnent Council of Traditional Rulers.
The online publication further reports that Khalifa Sanni Abduldir Zaria led the prayer for the deceased, attended by important dignitaries, among whom was the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
Other sympathizers that attended the funeral prayer include; Senator Tunde Ogbeha, PDP Kogi West Senatorial candidate,Hon.Teejay Yusuf, the Amana of Muye ,Alhaji Abdulkadir Maigari ,Danman of Lokoja, Alhaji Sulaiman Baba and host of others
The Etsu Nupe,Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, Hakimi Raya Kasa of Lokoja, Alhaji Abdulrasaq Isah Kutepa, former Deputy Governor of Kogi state ,Arch. Yomi Awoniyi,Gabi of Lokoja, Alhaji Sulaiman Baba Ali, Dan Madamin Lakwaja, Alhaji Danlami Abubakar sule also witnessed the burial.
Hon.Shaba Ibrahim, PDP member,House of Representatives, Diplomats, Islamic and Christian clerics amongst other top personalities from across the country were also in attendance.
In his comment about the late first class traditional ruler, the Gabi of Lokoja, Alhaji Sulaiman Baba Ali, noted that late Maigari contributed positively towards the development of Lokoja ,Kogi state and the nation at large.

He, therefore, prayed Almighty Allah to grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest, his family,the people of the state and Lokoja emirate council,the courage to bear the irreplaceable loss.
In similar vein, the Dan Madamin of Lokoja, Alhaji Danlami Abubakar Sule said the death of Maigari had created vacuum that would be difficult to fill in view of his exemplary lifestyle and conduct.
He said the the deceased lived according to the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet, Muhammad (PBUH)”.
Sule added that the death of the traditional ruler came when his wise counsel and contributions to the development of the state in particular and the nation in general were most needed.
