The Kogi State Ministry of Works has intensified supervision of ongoing road and infrastructure projects across the state as part of efforts to ensure quality delivery and accelerated infrastructural development.

Leading a team of engineers on an inspection tour of various project sites on Tuesday, the Commissioner for Works, Abdulsalami Momodu Ozigi Deedat, expressed satisfaction with the level of work carried out so far and urged contractors handling the projects to ensure timely completion in line with government specifications.

The commissioner stated that the ministry would not compromise on quality standards, stressing that maintenance and development of road infrastructure remained one of its core responsibilities.

According to him, regular supervision and monitoring of projects are necessary to ensure compliance with approved standards and specifications.

Barr. Deedat explained that monitoring and evaluation of projects remained one of the major obligations of the ministry, adding that the administration of Ahmed Usman Ododo is committed to transforming the state through massive infrastructural development.

He noted that the governor’s commitment to road construction and rehabilitation across the state would leave a lasting legacy for the people of Kogi State.

The commissioner commended contractors for the progress recorded so far and encouraged them to sustain the pace of work to ensure delivery within the stipulated timeframe.

Responding, some of the contractors handling the projects praised Governor Ododo for initiating and sustaining infrastructure projects across the state, describing the administration’s intervention in road development as a major boost to socio-economic activities

They also appreciated the commissioner for what they described as purposeful leadership and effective supervision of ongoing works.

The contractors expressed gratitude to the state government for the opportunity to contribute to the development of the state and assured residents that all projects would be delivered according to the ministry’s standards and specifications.

Among the project sites inspected were the Okaito Junction–Omavi Road in Okehi Local Government Area, the Obagende/Okaito Road Project, Hajiya Ladi Ibrahim and Alhaji Hadi Ameuto Street projects, as well as the Ikaraworo/Obeito–Onusaba Street project in Adavi Local Government Area, among others.
