Breaking:Kogi Journalist solicits govt.financial assistance to solve life threatening ailment

The Proprietor and Editor-in-Chief of the first local newspaper in Kogi state,Kogi Express,Mr Alimi Abubakar, who is down with kidney-related ailment, has appealed to the state government for financial assistance to enable him treat his ailment.

He made the passionate appeal in a telephone interview with our Correspondent from his sick bed at the Gwagwalada Specialist Teaching Hospital in the FCT on Saturday.

According to him, he was diagnosed with the disease some months ago, adding that all attempts to overcome this life threatening health challenge had not yielded any positive result, despite huge sums of money has spent on the treatment.

“This disease,apart from the fact that it is weighing me down, has consumed all I have in terms of financial resources,all with no sign of improvement.

“I am appealing to the government of Kogi state, particularly our compassionate Governor, Alhaji Yahaha Adoza Bello, to help to come to my aid to save my life.

The ailing Journalist said the results of various examinations conducted by medical doctors and consultants on his ailment showed that he would need the N10 million to be able to undergo medical treatment abroad, in view of the worsening condition of his health now.
