Kuliya praises Buhari over upgrading FCE, Kontagora to University

Alhaji Rufai Kuliya, Board member, Federal College of Education Governing Board has commended President Muhammadu Buhari for assenting to the bill seeking to upgrade the Federal College of Education,FCE, Kontagora to Federal University of Education.

Kuliya told newsmen in Minna on the sideline of the meeting of the Governing Council of the institution,that by that development,Buhari had laid foundation that would take the education sector to a greater height.

He said that the establishment of two federal  universities in Kontagora and Pankshin would provide the required manpower to effectively manage the nation education sector and described the upgrade as a bold step to prove that the Buhari-led government is capable of reposition the nation’s educationsl sector with qualified manpower.

He said:” I commend  President Muhammadu Buhari for his unquestionable love for Niger State and his consistency in considering matters related to its progress and development.

” So far so good, under the leadership of the Present Provost, Professor Faruk Rashid,  the academic performance of our students as well as excellent dedicated staff, coupled with physical structures on ground, the institution would meet up with the requirements to enable it fit effectively into the new status.

” The building and other structures in the institution premises are very much enough for the smooth take-off of various academic programmes in our new University,” he said.

Kuliya also commended the provost of the institution for initiating and executing capital projects that paved way for the smooth take up of the institution, adding that such projects had greatly complemented the efforts of the authorities of the institution in providing a conducive learning environment for students.

“We will continue to support the political commitment of the provost to achieve the set objectives,” he promised.
