The chairman, Nigeria Diaspora Voting Council (NDVC), Prince Ade Omole and Professor Mahmood Yakubu, Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC),have expressed satisfaction with the ongoing NASS exercise and reiterated their commitments to ensuring that DV becomes a reality in Nigeria.

Secretary, Nigeria Diaspora Voting Council (NDVC) and a copy made available to The Reporters,an online publication on Wednesday in Abuja.
Oluwatuyi said the two chairmen met on Tuesday, in Abuja, to compare notes on the ongoing National Assembly (NASS) Public Hearing on Nigeria Diaspora Voting (DV) and review the strategy to implement DV
He qouted the INEC boss as expressing the determination of the commission to deploy its resources to DV as soon as the constitution is amended, to give the agency the legal framework to commence required tasks.
Yakubu, he added, further stressed that INEC had the capacity and expertise to execute the DV mandate, when the constitutional barrier is removed by the legislature.
Prince Omole, accompanied by two NDVC board members, Dr. Badeji Lee and Professor Ali Alao, briefed the INEC Chairman on the public hearings attended across the country and the feedback received so far from stakeholders in each state.
Omole thanked the electoral umpire boss for the agency’s support and guidance, especially with the drafting of the Diaspora Voting bill and urged INEC to be steadfast, “realising that we are partners in progress, with a common commitment to Diaspora Voting in Nigeria”.
The duo agreed to work together, more closely,to strengthen the synergy for the benefit of Nigerians in the Diaspora, according to the secretary.
