Factional leadership of the Peoples ‘Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger state has distanced itself from the former Governor of the state, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu over his comments against Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state.

The PDP Concerned stakeholders, in a statement jointly signed by Senator Zainab Kure, former Deputy Governor, Dr. Shem Zagbayi Nuhu and Hon. Abubakar A. Tanko and made available to newsmen on Wednesday, said former Governor Aliyu spoke for himself and not PDP stakeholders in the state.

The Concerned PDP Stakeholders stated that by referring to Governor Wike as a dictator was a careless statement.

ā€œFormer Governor Babangida Aliyu, who has worked against his own party and admitted doing same in a signed press statement by himself should rather show remorse in repentance, instead of causing further damage to himself and the party,” they said.

ā€œWe have read with dismay, an incoherent and face saving interview planted in some newspapers by former Governor Aliyu, who has admitted working against PDP and Goodluck Jonathan in 2015, directing cryptic attacks on Governor Wike of Rivers stateā€.

ā€œFormer Governor Aliyu seems to be a poor student of history, otherwise, he would have known that his utterances, attitude and cryptic attacks on Governor Wike, by implying that he (Wike) is a dictator, is careless, untrue and a nomenclature only befitting of himself.

ā€œIf anything, Governor Wike and all PDP Governors are shining examples of democrats and pride of all PDP members. We Concerned Stakeholders of PDP in Niger state wholly reject and take absolute exceptions to such commentsā€.

ā€œBabangida Aliyu only spoke for himself, not PDP stakeholders in Niger state, at maximum, he spoke for himself and not PDP

” The Concerned PDP members insist as it recalled how he (Aliyu) emerged Governor on the party’s platform without going through party formalities.”

They, therefore, advised the former to face his issues in peace and leave the PDP Governors, especially Governor Wike.

The functional leadership of the part6 added that ā€œa man like Nyesom Wike who delivered himself in several elections and many other electoral accomplishments “is certainly an asset.ā€

The concerned group called on Aliyu to seeking for forgiveness from his people in Niger state and all PDP members, for his anti-party activities among others anomalies.
