As call for self defence against Fu;ani bandits gathers momentum in Niger state, the people of Ebbo Community in Lapai Local Government Area of the state have solicited for improved security to forestall what they termed, ‘premeditated atacks by suspected the bandits.

Our correspondent reports that Ebbo Community has also been thrown into confusion, following the abduction of a popular businessman in the area Tuesday night by about ten armed men who invaded the area while two other persons sustained injuries.

Reliable sources said the kidnappers attacked the community at about 10 p.m, shooting sporadically into the air and in the process two villagers who were in the market for the day’s businesses were injured.

The victim simply identified as, Sule Isah (a sales boy) and Alhaji Abu Magaji. One of those that sustained injuries has been discharged from nearby health facility while the second person, the source, said was still in hospital but responding to treatment.

“The victim and his master run a mobile telepone shop in the locality which attracts huge customers on market days, hence he was targeted by some faceless criminals who decided to launch an attak on the fateful day,”,,he told The Reporters.

Eye witness account further revealed that immediately the armed men entered the market, they headed straight to the shop and started hitting people with sticks and lashes to clear from the way before taking hold of their target who was also busy attending to customers.

Meanwhile, a resident of the area, Luka Ndako, has expressed fear of attacks on his people, especially on markets days and therefore solicited for improved security beef-up in the area to ward off any form of attacks on innocent people.

While Nigerlites are yet to come to recover from the attacks and kidnap, of some students and travellers, Ndako called on the state government to beef up security at local markets which he noted had become targets of bandits.
